Travel app thing:

Blog is really helpful, make sure to put everything on there. The blog will be a bit like the research proformas I had to do last year. The blog has to be printed, there has to be a certain route (Casebook). Create a different blog from the first one

3. landscaped version of it, so make it on InDesign. 20-page maximum document. 

We will have to make a prototype of the app, so we will have people testing it for us. 

Basically, have an evaluation of my work and how I found the task and my own work etc. 

The app can be for anything that we think is best. Could be travelling around or fining specific things, such as shops, restaurants, etc.

Think about technical side of the app, so like what size the phone will be. 

Create any marketing things that the app would need. 

User testing is there to see if the app will work. 

Always show working on the blog, this is like the evidence for my work so they know how I got to where I did. 

Could include the apple watch. 

Research (Primary & Secondary)

Secondary-Look into existing apps. Such as UBER, City mapper, etc. Have a look at maps or travel guides. 

Primary- I could ask people that did not grow up in Manchester what they would like within an app. Then ask what people that have grown up here would want, this would show the differences and help me understand where the gap in the market is. People aged between 18-25, that the audience demographic. 

Make sure to critique my own work and other existing work, this shows that I am thinking about the work and developing my ideas and techniques.

Brainstorm/ making a mind map on things that I would want, then decide through that.

Create an audience profile for both the youngest and oldest age between the audience demographic, so 18 and 25. Do research into it not just making assumptions. 

We need to make:

A logo!

Branding

Design sheet

Names

Colour scheme

Theme of the app

Typography (Fonts that work well on a screen, and goes with the theme) (Reference it) 

Talk about where everything is from, put it into the blog but not that important, such as photos and font etc. Legal side can be spoken about and should since it’s how it would work in a real job, but there is no need for real forms and things since it is for educational purposes.
